Bunnies, Eggs, and Candy.. Oh My!

I don't think Easter could have fallen at a worse possible time this year. It fell on the weekend before the last week of school, which meant the last weekend before dreadful finals. I have to be out of my apartment by the Monday after finals week.. so that means, all durning finals week I have to worry about being all packed for the move as well. With all this on my mind, I quickly decided I wouldn't be going home for Easter, and justified my decision by making a 'to-do' list of everything I have going home. As it got closer, however, I realized there's no better way to take a break from worrying/studying then going home to see my family and my beautiful niece and twin nephews.

Needless to say, I'm happy I decided to make the two hour drive home. After all, there's more important things in life besides getting all A's.... right?

The closest thing we got to a family photo!

Opening Night

Before winning the Opening Day tickets from BP, I had already bought Opening Night tickets with my sister. So for the first time in my life, I was present at two of the opening series games at GABP.

I was excited about Opening Night because last season I attended and was able to meet a lot of the Reds players on the "Reds Carpet." I got a ton of autographs, and I also met AND hugged Jay Bruce! My meeting with Jay Bruce scored me a picture in the Cincinnati Enquirer. The following pictures are from last years Opening Night;

This is the picture from the Cincinnati Enquirer; Jay Bruce and I!

Here's a hint at how close I was able to get to the players!; Joey Votto

My hat, signed by all the players that walked the carpet.

Last season was the first time they really tried to hype up Opening Night. I was able to get so close to the players on the carpet because people weren't all that informed about the event. This year however, people were well aware that the players would be coming out before the game, thus leaving me not even close to the Reds Carpet.

Anyways, here's a few of my favorite pictures from Opening Night. We started the night off at Hooters in KY.

The Reds came out with a 4-2 win against the Brew Crew!

Opening Day

Brandon wasn't lying!; I arrived at Great American Ball Park by myself, and went straight to will-call. I told them I had tickets waiting, and told them my name. They looked and didn't see my tickets, so they turned around and asked me "Where did you get your tickets?" ..I have to be completely honest when I tell you, I felt like a COMPLETE bad ass when I replied, "Brandon Phillips," and the guy walked over to a different box and retrieved my tickets. I felt ridiculously special ;) My sister already had tickets to the game with some friends, but she met me in the ball park and sat with me anyways!

That's a lot of people!

This being my first legal game and all, 7+ dollars was worth it for a beer I didn't even drink half of.

I could post about what all happened throughout the game, but in a nut-shell, the Reds came out with a 7-6 win over the Brewers!
