The Reds

If you hang around me long enough, you will soon realize that I really like am obsessed with the Cincinnati Reds.

Considering tomorrow is Opening day and all, I figured why not post about the Reds?

The craziest thing(s) happened to me today. I wouldn't have really considered myself an avid "Tweeter" until recently. However, I was on my computer today and I just happened to see a tweet from one of my favorite places to eat in Oxford. If you aren't familiar with Bagel and Deli, you should come to Oxford and try it NOW! Anyways, there are really only two or three bagels that I've ever tried, and today they were giving away a free bagel with free delivery if you could answer which bagel they posted on Twitter. (They only posted the ingredients, and then you had to say which bagel it was.) I just happened to see this tweet at the perfect time, and the bagel just so happened to be my very favorite! I replied with my answer (The Wam-O bagel) ...and I was right, AND I was the first one to reply correctly... so my Wam-O was delivered to my door free of charge! Pretty cool, right?

Later that day, I was on Twitter once again. I follow Brandon Phillips, who is the Reds second baseman. On occasion he has contests where he gives away random Reds-related things, such as tickets, his bats, cleats, etc. Today his contest included Opening Day tickets, for tomorrow. I honestly had just gone to my Twitter page as Brandon tweeted his contest question. The question was what is his favorite cheesecake, at the Cheesecake Factory. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've only eaten at there maybe twice, and I almost never get dessert when eating out.. but, considering it's the Cheesecake Factory, my friend and I bought the Red-Velvet Cheesecake after dinner one of the two times I ate there. So, this cheesecake being the only one I knew of, and the only one I'd ever tried, I quickly replied "Red-velvet cheesecake!" Low-and-behold, a few minutes later Brandon posted the winners, and I was one of them! He followed me so he was able to send me a direct message, and he sent me a message congratulating me and asking for my number. A few minutes later my life was completely different after I legitimately had a phone conversation with THE second baseman for THE Cincinnati Reds!

So, Brandon said I will have two tickets waiting for me at will-call tomorrow before the game.

I can't wait! :) GO REDS!

Blogger?

So I was thinking, what if I started a blog?

  • Would people read it?
  • Would I post enough to be considered a legit blogger
  • And most importantly, do I have anything interesting enough to blog about?
It sat on my mind for days and days, and I kept asking my best friend, "should I? should I? should I??" Of course he thought it was the dumbest idea ever. But, after weeks of pondering the idea, here I am.

I've tried blogging before, I guess you could say. I did the typical, "I woke up late. Went to class. Took a shit. Went to bed." thing. Much to my surprise, nobody cared. Nobody wanted to hear a play-by-play of my boring life. -So, here I am. Back again, but this time it's going to be different.

Different is exactly what I need.
